About The Show

Hey, Hey, we're the Monkees! the 60's sitcom about a struggling young band, was created by TV producers Bob Rafelson & Bert Schneider, inspired by The Beatles film "A Hard Days Night".

The prefab four, as some critics labelled them, were Micky Dolenz, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork and Davy Jones. The Monkees became an instant TV and pop charts success... selling 75 Million Albums and every kind of merchandise you can think of.. in just 2 years. While chart hits like "The Last Train to Clarkesville" & "I'm a Believer" quickly created a huge demand for the boys to perform live concert tours.

The problem was, until then The Monkee's music had been recorded by session musicians...and the lads only provided the vocals!! Now, the fictional band wanted to become real...and like Pinocchio became a real boy, they cut the strings!

This is the story of the Monkees.....with a young band of talented singers who really can play and a hilarious narrator.

So, you better get ready...

Here we come, The MONKEES Tale.

Brilliant Monkees Tale

Myself and my friend traveled from Liverpool to see the Monkees Tale in Cottingham in February and both really enjoyed the show. These guys really have the sound of the Monkees perfectly toned and played all the hits and a few rare cuts too catching all the brilliance of the original Monkees. We would definitely recommend this show to anyone wanting to recapture the fantastic look, sound and story of the Monkees.

Great night out

First thing these guys  can sing and play their instruments which is refreshing in its self.

A very entertaining account of an iconic band ( the first ever boy band) with catchy tunes and would be worthwhile for anyone who is interested in pop music’

Fantastic show!

I really enjoyed the show on Saturday at Witham – a breath of fresh air.  Brought back a lot of memories.  I especially liked the haunting melody of “I Want to Be Free”.  Never mind the comments on inaccuracies on Facebook, I would recommend this show any time.
